With the Truth and Reconciliation holiday landing on a Monday we had a nice opportunity for a long weekend for the family to gather at my parent’s place in New Brunswick. It was both my birthday weekend and lined up with a planned 96th birthday party for a cousin. With an afternoon flight to Moncton, after the drive we arrived in time for a late dinner and some gams.

After breakfast we found time for a walk along the Miramichi River before heading into town for my cousin’s birthday party.

After the party we were back home for a great family dinner and another night of games.

We had a relatively quiet day, but again started with a walk and then visited my first cousin’s house on the old family property. It was nice catching up and seeing the progress on the property. On the way back to my parents we visited the family plot where my grandparents are currently buried and where my parents plan to place their ashes.

Back at home we had a lovely birthday dinner and another family game night.

Before heading to the airport for our afternoon flight home we had another walk and I captured a one last morning view of the river.
