We had our first trip to Dominican Republic in 2025, and enjoyed the great weather and good flight options, so decided to return again. I had originally considered exploring the island a little bit, but ended up choosing a more relaxing all-inclusive weekend.

With some snow in the forecast, we were able to move our flight from Thursday evening to a widebody flight on Friday morning, which allowed us to enjoy the extra room and a midday arrival. We navigated the Uber pickup experience at the airport and found out just how far off the highway our resort was. Although we arrived mid-afternoon, we ended up having to wait a while for our room and then for our butler to come back and escort us there.
Although we were just a few kilometers from our previous hotel, this property was a lot smaller and more isolated, which we enjoyed a little more. I’m not sure we get the best value from all inclusive resorts, but it was still a nice break.
Jan 18
After a relaxing weekend, we had breakfast on the terrace and headed back to the airport. To get the best flights, we were coming back through Montreal. As we were on time, we were able to make a quick connection and change to a flight for Toronto’s Billy Bishop that got us home much quicker, and saved us from having to take the train from Pearson.
