Living in Texas, heading to Iowa for the 4th of July was a little easier for me.  For coordinated flights we chose to fly to Kansas City that offers non-stop flights both to Houston and Toronto.  This time the flights worked well, and we were in Des Moines in time for dinner on the 4th.  We had a good turnout for the family, and had a small celebration to acknowledge our recent wedding.  The weather cooperated, and we enjoyed time around the pool.  Although Tom and I didn't play, the family held an epic croquet tournament, complete with an award ceremony.  On Sunday, we headed back to Kansas City and back home.
